Attack on playground - Youth hits 14-year-old several times with a hammer

A teenager repeatedly hit the head of a 14-year-old with a hammer. The boy had to spend a night in the hospital after the attack at a playground in Oldenburg, according to the police. The 16-year-old suspect is in custody for attempted manslaughter.

On the evening of June 23rd, two groups of children and teenagers got into an argument at the playground. The children called out to teenagers to come join them. When the 16-year-old appeared, he is said to have suddenly struck the victim several times with a hammer. The boy was discharged from the hospital after a night, but will continue to be treated as an outpatient.
