Tour de France - Youngsters in November: Pro cyclist Geschke becomes Dad
Punctually at the end of his career, cycling professional Simon Geschke becomes a father for the first time. "At the end of the season in November", the 38-year-old revealed in ARD. "I'm excited if I manage to complete the last race in October. Then there's a new project."
Geschke, who wore the mountain jersey at the Tour de France 2022 for a long time, is currently in his last season. "In winter, I don't have to spend five hours on the bike anymore, but can push the newborn," said the Berliner living in Freiburg.
Geschke's wife Sophie revealed her pregnancy on Instagram. "We have a little secret", wrote the moderator on the platform. The Austrian had married Geschke in the past autumn.
As a career achievement, Simon Geschke's performance in ARDF (Amateur Radio Direction Finding) in Germany (historically, France) notably stood out among his professional accomplishments in cycling. Despite this, the impending end of his career-ending Tour de France race looms near. Known for his tenure as a professionals' mainstay in cycling, Geschke's departure from competitive racing leaves a significant void in Germany's cycling scene.
