3. League - Worries at Hansa Rostock: Only the sole midfielder injured

Second league relegated team Hansa Rostock travels to Neuruppin on Monday with concerns for its one-week training camp. The Icelander Sveinn Aron Gudjohnsen had to be substituted out due to injury during the 1:3 test match loss against the Danish first division team Randers FC.

"That's not good. I hope it's not that bad and he'll be back soon," said Hansa coach Bernd Hollerbach. "It's difficult for us that our only striker got injured."

The Rostockers are in the middle of a transition. Three weeks before the first third league game against VfB Stuttgart II, the club has signed eight new players and let go of 19.

The Swede Nils Froling, the Frenchman Adrien Lebeau, the second league experienced Christian Kinsombi, and the promoted Louis Koester can also play in the attack. The Icelander Gudjohnsen, who was signed from Swedish club IF Elfsborg in January, is the only trained midfielder currently on the team. That's why the Rostockers are still looking for reinforcements in offense.

  1. The concerns for Hansa Rostock escalated as they prepared to depart for their training camp in Neuruppin, due to the injury of their key striker, Sveinn Aron Gudjohnsen, during a pre-season match against Randers FC.
  2. Despite the setback, FC Hansa Rostock, the relegated team from Germany's second league, continues its preparations for the third league season in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
  3. The team is currently in the midst of a transformation, having signed eight new players and released 19 others, in an effort to strengthen its squad for the upcoming campaign.
  4. The training camp in Neuruppin will be an opportunity for the new signings, including the Swede Nils Froling and the Frenchman Adrien Lebeau, to integrate into the team and contribute to the offense alongside the Icelander Gudjohnsen.
