Change - World champion Bonga leaves Bayern basketball team

Basketball World Champion Isaac Bonga leaves FC Bayern Munchen and joins a foreign club. The Munich team initially did not disclose where the German national player is heading. "He has decided on a new challenge and we accept and respect that. We wish him all the best for it", said Marko Pesic, the business manager. The announcement only mentioned that Bonga was joining a European club that also plays in the EuroLeague.

The 24-year-old was among the key players in the double win in the previous season. Nick Weiler-Babb, who unlike Bonga signed an extension contract until 2026, was also among them. "As always with players of Nick's quality, it was not easy. We are therefore all the happier that he has decided again to continue his way with us in Munich", said Pesic. The guard has been playing for the Munich team since 2020.

  1. Despite Isaac Bonga's departure to a foreign club, FC Bayern Munich will continue to shine in the Bundesliga, as Marko Pesic, the team's business manager, noted.
  2. Born and raised in Germany, Bonga's basketball skills have not only made a mark in Munich but also in the Bundesliga, where FC Bayern Munich and other teams compete.
  3. In Bavaria, the news of Bonga's transfer to a European club has caused a ripple in the basketball community, as FC Bayern Munich and their rival, FC Bayern Munich's basketball arm, FC Bayern Munich, are both reputable teams in the German and European Basketball scene.
  4. Marko Pesic, after welcoming Nick Weiler-Babb's extension contract with FC Bayern Munich, expressed optimism about the upcoming season, hoping to maintain their dominant position in the Bundesliga.
