Woman succumbs to severe burns following kiosk blaze.
In Dusseldorf, a few weeks ago, a kiosk went up in flames, causing the deaths of three people and seriously injuring another. Unfortunately, the injured woman later passed away in a hospital. Now, a total of four individuals have lost their lives in this tragic fire.
The authorities believe that the kiosk owner might be responsible for setting the fire. He allegedly poured gasoline and lit it. The man's mental stability was reportedly a cause for concern among his neighbors. Although there is no concrete evidence to confirm this theory, the lack of any other leads has left investigators with little choice but to continue with this line of inquiry.
The case has taken an even more tragic turn with the death of a 55-year-old resident living above the kiosk. His body was found in his apartment, with relatively fresh injuries that were not directly responsible for his demise. The autopsy report showed that he had died from smoke inhalation. The circumstances surrounding these injuries are still unclear, as it's not certain whether he inflicted them on himself while in a state of panic or accidentally.
During the fire, the escape route was blocked, which meant that many people had to be rescued from their balconies using ladder trucks. This enabled them to escape the inferno. Further complicating the situation was the fact that neighboring houses were also partially damaged. Additionally, several vehicles were engulfed in flames, and debris littered the surrounding area. The force of the explosion even damaged the building across the street.
However, the full extent of the damage only became apparent after the fire was extinguished. Over 100 emergency responders were mobilized to deal with this catastrophe—an incident that will undoubtedly leave a scar on the community for a long time.
