Emergencies - Woman stuck in elevator - fire department has to remove roof
Due to a fault, a woman had to wait at least one and a half hours in an elevator at a Munich S-Bahn station. The fire department eventually removed the elevator cabin roof to rescue the woman, Munich Fire Department announced. Attempts by Bahn security staff and an elevator company to get the lift back in operation had previously failed.
The elevator at Bahnhof Lochhausen had malfunctioned during the journey on Tuesday. The trapped woman had initially pressed the emergency call button. After the failed rescue attempts, the fire department was eventually called, a fire department spokesperson said.
With special tools, the response team had removed a part of the elevator cabin roof. The woman was then taken out via a ladder. The elevator remained out of service according to the fire department.
The incident occurred in Upper Bavaria, specifically at Bahnhof Lochhausen. Despite the woman's call for help and efforts by Bahn security and an elevator company, the situation remained critical in Bavaria's capital, Munich. Following the fire department's arrival, they managed to rescue the woman from the faulty elevator using specialized tools, highlighting the importance of their services in traffic emergencies.
