A woman from Jena was scammed out of 25,000 Euro by false policemen. Nine distress calls were reported to the police in Jena on Monday, as the department announced on Tuesday. According to this, the supposed policemen inquired about valuable items in the house over the phone or demanded so-called bail payments of up to 85,000 Euro.

Most of those called ended the conversation, according to reports, and informed the real police. A woman, however, believed the call and handed over 25,000 Euro to an unknown woman.

The police warned that they do not ask for valuable possessions and do not demand bail payments. People should always double-check and above all never give valuables or cash to strangers.

The police in Thuringia, including those in Jena, received a shock call about a scam involving false policemen on Monday. This incident led to a woman from Jena losing 25,000 Euro to the scammers. Despite the warnings from the police, some people might still fall victim to such crimes, as demonstrated by this unfortunate incident.
