Wolfsburg loan Franjic to Shakhtar Donetsk

Last season at Darmstadt, now at top Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk: Bartol Franjic is loaned out again by VfL Wolfsburg. And is now playing in the Champions League.

Bundesliga - Wolfsburg loan Franjic to Shakhtar Donetsk

Bartol Franjic will not return to VfL Wolfsburg. The 24-year-old midfielder is switching instead to Schachtjor Donezk on loan, as the Bundesligist announced. Franjic is set to play for the Ukrainian Champions League participant for a year.

Franjic joined Wolfsburg in the summer of 2022 and had played six Bundesliga and DFB-Pokals matches for the Greens and Whites since then. The Croatian also played on loan for SV Darmstadt 98 in the previous season.

  1. Despite leaving VfL Wolfsburg, Bartol Franjic will continue his career in Germany's rival league, as he's signed a loan deal with Shakhtar Donetsk from Ukraine.
  2. In the ongoing Bundesliga season, VfL Wolfsburg fans might miss Franjic's contributions, as he is now playing for another Top club competing in Lower Saxony's neighboring country.
