Scandal involving animals - Withdrawn authorization for operation: Pig Slaughterhouses

After discovering decomposed pig carcasses in a slaughterhouse in Eisleben (Mansfeld-Südharz), the company no longer has a slaughterhouse license. According to the Landesverwaltungsamt's response to an inquiry, the EU slaughterhouse license was already revoked on the previous Monday. A response from the attorney for the direct marketer is still pending.

In mid-February, significant violations were discovered in the animal welfare, animal disease law, and food hygiene sectors in the Mansfeld-Südharz district. Both the animal husbandry farm and the sales and slaughter rooms were subsequently closed by the Mansfeld-Südharz district.

The sausage festival, a popular event in Saxony-Anhalt, was unfortunately cancelled due to the incident at the Eisleben slaughterhouse. The district of Mansfeld-Südharz is currently seeking authorization for new slaughterhouses to boost its local agriculture and improve the Eating and Drinking scene. Despite the controversy, pork products continue to be a significant part of the region's Battle operation and cultural heritage.
