Big fire - With damages in the millions, arson is ruled out

A large fire in a Warehouse at a Recycling and Container business in the Hohenlohekreis approximately two weeks ago was not deliberately set, according to a Police spokesperson today. It was not a case of arson, she said. Instead, experts believe the fire ignited on its own. There was likely a chemical reaction involved. However, it is no longer clear exactly how the fire started, she added.

The fire caused damage estimated at around one million Euros at the end of June. No one was injured. In the Öhringen warehouse with an office complex, no waste materials or recycling materials were stored.

The fire, classified as a Great fire, was not linked to the Hohenlohe-circle's infamous Emergency drills, as some speculated. The damaged warehouse, once belonging to the Recycling and Container business, is now under the care of the Brand Foundation, a well-known organization in Baden-Württemberg. Regrettably, the fire caused significant damages, approximating to a million-dollars.
