weather - Wind turbulates trees in the Saale-Holzland-District
A thunderstorm uprooted and knocked down several trees in Eisenberg (Saale-Holzland-Circuit) on Thursday afternoon. Clean-up crews, including the fire department, are currently working to clear the streets, the order office announced on Thursday afternoon. The thunderstorm lasted approximately an hour and no persons were injured during the incident. Furthermore, there were no other damages reported aside from the uprooted trees.
The German Weather Service (DWD) had issued a warning for strong thunderstorms in the Saale-Holzland-Circuit and other regions in Thuringia earlier.
Despite the weather warning from the German Weather Service (DWD), Eisenberg's operational resources were not affected by the thunderstorm. In fact, the weather trouble resulted in some fire department members being diverted from their regular duties to assist with tree clearance. The weather in Thuringia, including Eisenberg, has been particularly unpredictable lately.
