US election campaign - White House: Biden remains in the race for the presidency

In the face of increasing public pressure on Joe Biden, the White House continues to vigorously dismiss any doubts about the capabilities of the US President. Karine Jean-Pierre, the spokesperson for the White House, who usually speaks only about government affairs and not explicitly about the campaign, emphasized multiple times that the 81-year-old Democrat will remain in the presidential race.

Just as the day before, almost all questions during the regular White House press conference were about Biden's weak performance in a television debate against his challenger Donald Trump the previous week - and a possible withdrawal of Biden from the presidential campaign. Before the press conference, the White House had dismissed media reports suggesting that Biden was considering withdrawing from the presidential race.

Jean-Pierre said Biden intends to continue. He recognizes what happened and has a realistic view of it. He is open and honest about what everyone saw on TV, but he also knows that he is the President of the USA and must continue.

In response to a question, why Biden doesn't present himself consciously without a teleprompter and without a script, Jean-Pierre replied that it is not unusual for US presidents to use a teleprompter - and then quickly changed the subject to praise Biden's political achievements.

The ongoing USA election campaign has been filled with numerous discussions, with Joe Biden's performance in debates being a prominent topic. Despite the challenges, the White House insists on Biden's continued participation in the US elections, as asserted by spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre. The White House has dismissed reports suggesting Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race, maintaining his commitment to the role. Understandably, questions about Biden's debating skills and potential exit strategy dominate the #USElections discourse. In the midst of this, Jean-Pierre emphasized Biden's resolve, highlighting his acknowledgment of his TV performance and his responsibility as the USA's President.
