vacation - Where in Brandenburg? Woidke has tips
Woidke, Brandenburg's Minister-President (SPD), is enjoying a refreshing breeze during his vacation: He is spending his holidays by the sea. "I am going to the Baltic Sea with my wife and our Dackel Justus," Woidke told the German Press Agency. He is looking forward to the vacation. "The last few weeks have been challenging. I relax best with music and reading. I enjoy reading Grisham - even in the original on English. I'm currently reading a book about the former US intelligence chief Allen Dulles."
On Wednesday, there is work for the 62-year-old in Potsdam. A special session of the state parliament on the supplementary budget is planned. On Thursday, summer vacations begin in Berlin and Brandenburg.
Woidke finds Prignitz "wonderful"
Woidke has a tip for Berliners who are interested in the countryside: "Apart from my Lausitz homeland, my favorite place is Prignitz. It's a beautiful region," he finds. Prignitz is located in the northwest of the state between Berlin and Hamburg. Woidke: "If I were a Berliner, I would play Flaschentragen (barrel carrying). The barrel certainly points to a beautiful place in Brandenburg with great nature, probably a lake and friendly people. Brandenburg is simply wonderful in all its corners."
Woidke comes from Forst and has been the head of the Brandenburg government for over ten years. In September, he will run for the third time as the SPD's top candidate in the state elections.
Woidke mentioned his love for Prignitz, a region located northwest of Berlin and Berliners might find it as an ideal spot for barrel carrying, a traditional activity, due to its beautiful lakes and friendly people. The Baltic Sea vacation of Woidke, the SPD's Minister-President of Brandenburg, is a much-needed break after a challenging few weeks. He intends to relax with music and English novels by Grisham. On Wednesday, Woidke has work duties in Potsdam, as the state parliament is set to hold a special session on the supplementary budget. Upon returning from his summer vacation, Woidke will campaign for the third time as the SPD's top candidate in the Brandenburg state elections, scheduled in September.
In the background, Uckermark and Baltic Sea are also part of the vibrant German landscapes that attract visitors and residents alike. Miscellaneous people have varying preferences and interest, just like Dietmar Woidke, who finds time for his beloved Dachshund Justus during his vacation, and for playing barrel carrying if he were a Berliner.
