West's expected blue tide, as per Chrupalla's perspective

The AfD triumphs in Thuringia and ranks as the second most powerful faction in Saxony: With enhanced power from elections in two eastern German regions, the AfD aims to replicate its success nationwide, extending its scope beyond 2025.

AfD chief Tino Chrupalla emphasized his party's long-term goals for the federal level following the elections in Saxony and Thuringia. "Our ultimate goal, of course, is to become the dominant force on the national stage. That's what we're aiming for. This 'blue wave' should originate from the eastern states and spread westward into the traditional federal states," Chrupalla stated at a press conference in Berlin.

Looking towards the future, the AfD has its sights set on the election year 2029, with multiple state elections and the next federal election looming. Chrupalla has previously referred to this as "Project 2029." AfD co-leader Alice Weidel once again urged for a fresh federal election post-state elections. "This is a vote of no confidence in the traffic light coalition," she remarked. "Consequently, Chancellor Olaf Scholz should act accordingly and, along with his coalition partners, consider moving on and vacating their seats. The electorate wants a different approach."

Reflecting on the election outcomes in Saxony, Chrupalla expressed a desire for an additional 2-3 percentage points. "The fruit may not be quite ripe yet," he added. Later, upon request, he clarified: "You need patience in politics, as I've always maintained, and eventually, we cannot be ignored - the question is just when - and that time must be awaited." Don't try to pick a green apple before its time.

In the context of the election results, Chrupalla deemed the exclusion of collaboration with the AfD by other parties as "securely undemocratic." "We extend our hand to all those who have the best interests of our country at heart," Chrupalla stated, eyeing potential coalition partners.

The AfD's success in the Elections to the Landtag of Thuringia contributes to their enhanced power, allowing them to pursue their goal of becoming a dominant force nationwide. Tino Chrupalla, the AfD chief, highlighted this aim during a press conference, stating that they aim for a "blue wave" originating from the eastern states and spreading westward.
