After local thunderstorms in the south of Germany on Wednesday, there is a possibility of local storms and showers in wide parts of the country on Thursday. Meteorologist Tanja Egerer of the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach explains:

While the north and south have sunshine with temperatures up to 32 degrees on Wednesday, there is a chance of thunderstorms and showers in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. The focus is mainly on heavy rain. "This only occurs locally and is limited in scope," Egerer stresses. However, it can be quite intense in those areas. "There is a risk of flooded basements and garages, small streams may temporarily swell."
