Was a bazooka used to target an Israeli convoy?

In the town of Rafah, eight Israeli soldiers tragically lost their lives on a Saturday when an Israeli Namer type Transport tank was hit by an anti-tank missile. This event, marked as one of the deadliest since the military conflict started, devastatingly claimed the lives of eight soldiers.

Preliminary reports from "Israel Hayom" suggest that the tank's turret was open against orders, as all occupants were reportedly killed instantly upon impact. The exact cause of the explosion, however, is still under investigation. Some media outlets proposed the possibility of secondary explosions due to externally mounted explosive charges on the tank. It took troops a total of two hours to approach the destroyed vehicle post-explosion.

The soldiers were en route to Rafah in a convoy of armored vehicles following a mission in the northwest of the town. Initial uncertainty shrouded the cause of the explosion, with questions asked regarding whether it was caused by an anti-tank missile or a landmine. It is important to note that the military wing of the Islamic terrorist group Hamas declared responsibility for the attack. The Israeli military is currently attempting to dismantle one of Hamas' remaining strongholds in Rafah, as per their own reports.

Military operations have been ongoing in Rafah since early May, with ground troops involved. However, the military insists that this operation is limited, not a substantial offensive. This sentiment was echoed by US President Joe Biden as a "red line." The actions taken by Israel during the Gaza War have sparked international controversy due to substantial casualties and the dismal humanitarian crisis.

The Gaza War was instigated by a massacre orchestrated by Hamas and other radical groups within Israel, resulting in the loss of approximately 1200 lives, largely civilians.
