Warmer, sunnier and the best skiing weather
It's getting warmer again. The German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach is expecting significant plus temperatures towards the second Advent. The trend starts on Thursday. People in the south-western half of Germany can once again look forward to some sunshine. According to the DWD, the Black Forest and the Alps will have the "best skiing weather". In the eastern half, however, the gray dominates. The DWD is predicting the last light snowfall for the Erzgebirge and the Bavarian Forest.
On Friday, new precipitation will come from the west, partly as freezing rain. Snow may fall again towards the east and in the higher mountain regions. But as the day progresses, milder air will gradually flow in: Temperatures are already rising to between three and eight degrees in the west, while the east is still freezing with temperatures between minus two and plus two degrees.
"On the second weekend of Advent, the milder weather will continue with more rain," said meteorologist Nico Bauer from the Weather Forecast Center on Wednesday. "Then double-digit plus degrees are possible in the lowlands in the west." Towards the east, however, the cold air is much more persistent. Some snow or freezing rain with black ice is still possible there on Saturday. By Sunday at the latest, "the snowmen in the east will also be slowly getting the better of it", said Bauer.

With the temperature rise, the ski weather becomes warmer and more suitable for a plusgrade in ski resorts. Despite some snowfall in the east, the alpine regions will continue to offer the best ski weather over the weekend.
