EU Commission President - Von der Leyen nominated for second term of office
The European Council has nominated CDU politician Ursula von der Leyen for a second term as President of the EU Commission.
Additionally, the European Council of the 27 EU States' heads of government decided that the former Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa will be the next President of the European Council and the Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas will be appointed as EU High Representative.
