Hot burgers can be found sprinkled across Europe's nooks and crannies, a traveling platform reports. With a headcount of 50, the tastiest ones have been labeled: First place goes to an Austrian eatery, renowned for its limited menu and hand-chopped fries. Germany features at number 25, too.

During trips, people are frequently curious about local dishes. The evergreen burger is a global delight. But which European city serves the best one? Here's the scoop from a travel platform's ranking.

The travel site "Big 7 Travel" has published a ranking of Europe's top 50 burgers. The verdict: Burger joints offering a scrumptious meal can be found across the continent. Happily, Germany houses three: "Otto's Burger" in Cologne and Hamburg (Rank #50), plus Berlin's "Shiso Burger" (Rank #32) and "Burgermeister" (Rank #25).

Double Trouble for Amsterdam

Amsterdam finds a spot twice in the Top Ten:burghers. They're in order: Reykjavik ("Tommi's Burger Joint"), Copenhagen ("Gasoline Grill"), Amsterdam ("Burger Bar"), Compiegne ("Red Bear n' Burger"), Amsterdam again, and Rotterdam ("Ter Marsch & Co."), Geneva ("Pretty Patty Smash Burger"), and Valencia's fourth-placed "Jenkins Restaurant."

In England and Ireland, the top two European burger spots can be found: the bronze medal goes to "Beefy Boys" in Hereford, England. This local favorite, which topped England's national poll for best burger last year, is a must-visit for burger enthusiasts in England or Wales.

In Dublin, Ireland's capital, an exceptional burger awaits at "Bunsen Burgers." The eatery limits its selection to four burgers, all classics: a single and double hamburger, and a simple or double cheeseburger. According to the ranking, they taste even better than they sound, served with hand-chopped fries.

Over the Moon Owners

So, which European burger reigns supreme? According to the ranking, it's at "XO Grill" in Vienna. Born as a pop-up eatery during the Covid-19 pandemic, there are now two locations in Vienna, with reservations unavailable. The restaurant simply states on its website, "Just drop by." A modest menu offers a few burgers, and the fries are hand-chopped.

One of the owners, Ben Hofer, shared their thoughts with the Austrian newspaper "Der Standard": "We were completely surprised, but of course we're thrilled to be included. First place seems a bit surreal." This ranking can only mean good tidings for their establishment, as burger lovers now have a new go-to on their Viennese travels.
