Vice President Kennedy proposes a potential agreement with Trump.

Apart from Trump and Harris vying for the presidency in November, another contender hails from the Kennedy family. Although his chances are slim, his presence could potentially sway votes away from other candidates. His potential vice president is contemplating joining one of the two major political factions.

In an interview with Tom Bilyeu on YouTube, the running mate of independent US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hinted at the possibility of aligning with former President Donald Trump. She outlined two scenarios: continuing the race and risking a victory for Democrat Kamala Harris on November 5th, or joining forces with Trump right away. "Making this call isn't easy," she admitted, quick to clarify, "I'm not in negotiations with Trump."

The extent of Shanahan's discussions with Kennedy regarding this strategic shift remains unspoken. Kennedy, in a post on X, stated, "I'm always ready to engage with key figures from every significant political party to advance the aims I've been championing for forty years in my career and this campaign."

Over the weekend, rumors spread that Kennedy might back Harris in her campaign, perhaps in exchange for a cabinet position post-victory.

Shanahan refuted this speculation. "We've never had discussions with Harris," she asserted. "Trump has shown genuine interest in our policy towards chronic illnesses," she commended the 78-year-old. The decision now lies in weighing the potential risks of a Harris presidency against trusting Trump.

Trump acknowledged his openness to Kennedy's possible role in a potential Republican administration. "I like him, and I admire him," Trump responded to Shanahan's comments.

Kennedy's presidency could primarily affect Trump's votes

Kennedy's prospects in the November election are not promising, averaging about five percent support. Nevertheless, both Democrats and Republicans are keeping a watchful eye on his potential impact on the election. Kennedy could potentially chip away significant portions of votes from Trump or Harris with his campaign. Currently, it appears that his candidacy is primarily impacting Trump's voter base.

As a social activist and lawyer, Kennedy has advocated for environmental causes, such as clean water. However, he has faced criticism from Democrats and his family for promoting conspiracy theories and his ties with far-right politicians in recent years.

In March, Shanahan, a 38-year-old entrepreneur and former wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, joined Kennedy as his vice-presidential running mate. Shanahan, who grew up under humble circumstances as the daughter of an immigrant from China, brings business acumen to the table.

Despite Trump's acknowledgment of Kennedy's potential role in a Republican administration, it's worth noting that Kennedy's candidacy appears to be primarily impacting Trump's voter base in the November election. Donald Trump, the former president, is facing the possibility of losing some votes due to Kennedy's campaign, as both Democrats and Republicans keep a close eye on his impact.
