In total, a gang of thieves are believed to have broken into coin drop boxes in washing parks in the districts of Neu-Ulm, Günzburg and Augsburg over the past few months. According to a police statement, investigators searched the apartments of the five men, aged between 31 and 53.

A witness had observed several masked people last week in a washing park in Gersthofen attempting to break open a safe. Law enforcement officers arrested one person on site and, according to reports, subsequently found substantial evidence during the searches of the Men's apartments.

The gang of thieves, originating from Swabia, specifically in the District Augsburg, have been causing significant criminality in Bavaria by targeting coin drop boxes in washing parks. The police have been actively investigating the case, leading to the search of five men's apartments in New-Ulm and Gunzburg, suspected to be associated with the gang. The arrest of an individual at a washing park in Gersthofen and the subsequent discoveries in the searches of their apartments provided substantial evidence against them. The automated coin machines in washing parks seem to have become a lucrative target for this group, as reported incidents have occurred frequently.
