summer - Vacation start in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, Wetter benchmark

In the first school holiday week, people in Rhineland-Palatinate and in Saarland have to adapt to unpredictable weather with sun, clouds, and rain. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), there is only a small risk of rain from mid-week onwards.

This evening, accordingly, a shady rain is moving in from the west after a sunny first holiday day. Occasional showers and short thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday as well, with temperatures between 22 and 26 degrees.

On Wednesday, the sun dominates overall. Occasionally, clouds move in with temperatures around 24 to 26 degrees. Similarly, it remains on Thursday, with temperatures rising to 27 to 30 degrees according to the forecast.

Despite the promising weather forecast for mid-week, we found ourselves dealing with intermittent rain during our vacation start in the Palatinate region. The weather in Rhineland-Palatinate and neighboring Saarland continues to be unpredictable, with rain showers also expected on Wednesday. Fortunately, Mainz, a city in Rhineland-Palatinate, is known for its vibrant atmosphere and indoor activities, making it an excellent option for rainy days during our vacation.
