Tennis Olympic champion Alexander Zverev has left open the possibility of participating in the ATP Tournament in Hamburg in the coming week despite his knee injury sustained at Wimbledon.

"I'm optimistic that I can play in my hometown. It's particularly special for me to play in Hamburg. But I have to see how my body reacts to the first, second training session", said the 27-year-old after his arrival in Hamburg on the "NDR Talk Show".

"I can walk normally, I can do everything, but playing tennis I can't do that well yet. I still can't produce the performance I normally do, but I will soon", reported Zverev.
