- Upcoming Weather Phenomena: Visualizations Indicating Thunderstorm-Prone Regions

The upcoming week is set to see some intense weather conditions in certain parts of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, as predicted by the German Weather Service (DWD). Specifically, they're anticipating isolated, heavy thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain up to 2.5 liters per square meter within an hour, small hail, and gusty to stormy winds. These weather conditions are expected to occur early in the morning, primarily in localized areas. Later in the day and evening, these severe weather conditions will spread westward and towards the central mountain range, affecting regions like the Vogtland region, the Thuringian Forest, Hesse, and North Rhine-Westphalia. The DWD also warns of potentially significant hail that could reach up to 3 centimeters in size, as well as extremely heavy rain of over 4 liters per square meter within a short time frame. The highest temperatures are predicted to be between 25 and 31 degrees, with the coldest temperatures being by the sea at 23 degrees.

From Monday night to Tuesday, the thunderstorms are expected to gradually recede in the south and central regions, while some lingering thunderstorms that may last several hours are still possible in the western and later, northern western regions.

Severe weather on Tuesday

Tuesday continues to yield showers and thunderstorms in western Germany and progressing towards the central regions. Unfortunately, more severe weather conditions with heavy rain are expected again, as suggested by the DWD. In contrast, the easternmost parts of the country and in the Alpine foothills away from the Alps should remain dry and sunny. As the day wears on, the weather in the west will become more pleasant and dry again. Temperatures will remain warm: 25 to 30 degrees in the west, and hot in the east with up to 34 degrees.
