Fish theft - Unknown individuals stole 17 tons of salmon from trucks

Unknown perpetrators have stolen a full truckload of salmon on its way from Denmark to Poland. The value of the 17-tonne cargo is over 100,000 Euro, as the police reported. On Tuesday evening, policemen found the empty trailer hitch in Norderstedt (Schleswig-Holstein), as the Polish owner company had determined its position via GPS. The investigators assume that the cargo was directly loaded onto another vehicle at the find spot of the trailer hitch.

The theft of the salmon cargo has raised concerns about escalating criminality along transportation routes in the region. Due to the location of the empty trailer hitch in Norderstedt, Germany, which is situated in Schleswig-Holstein, authorities in Denmark and Germany will likely collaborate on the investigation.
