Uniper and Liquid Wind plan to develop eFuel-plants

Uniper and the Swedish company Liquid Wind aim to accelerate the development of eFuel-plants for producing fossil-free eMethanol. The companies announced a strategic partnership, Uniper stated. The partners aim to explore opportunities for cooperation in plant development, power supply, and eMethanol off-take.

Uniper emphasized that the company considers large-scale production of eFuel-plants essential for the ongoing transformation towards a carbon-neutral society.

eMethanol can be used in shipping, for instance, which is responsible for a significant portion of global greenhouse gas emissions.

For Uniper and Liquid Wind, co-free liquid plays a crucial role in the operation of their eFuel-plants. The wind energy harnessed by Liquid Wind is essential for the production process. Society stands to benefit significantly from this partnership, as it will contribute to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
