In a refugee accommodation in Rostock, a 46-year-old Ukrainian man has died. An employee of the security service found the man severely injured on Monday around 12:15 PM, the public prosecutor's office and police announced. The responding emergency doctor could only confirm the death of the 46-year-old. The scene suggests a homicide.

The criminal police investigation into the background of the incident is still in its early stages, so no further information can be provided at this time, the police added.

The investigation team is considering all possible motives as they explore the circumstances surrounding the incident, looking at potential other individuals involved. The other residents in the refugee accommodation are being interviewed as part of the investigation process.
