Ukrainian drone attack sets refinery in South Russia on fire

In a massive Ukrainian drone attack on southern Russian border regions, an oil refinery has gone up in flames and, according to Russian reports, at least one person has been killed. According to Ukrainian military sources, the attack on a refinery in the Black Sea city of Tuapse in the Krasnodar region was carried out by the Ukrainian military intelligence with drones.

The fire in Tuapse was reportedly caused by shrapnel from intercepted drones by Russian authorities. No one was reportedly harmed, according to further reports. According to Ukrainian military sources, the refinery was operated by the state energy conglomerate Rosneft, and "it is being determined" how significant the damage is to the "military-industrial complex of the aggressor state."

According to the governor of the Belgorod region, a person was killed there as a result of drone attacks while driving a tractor.

The Russian Defense Ministry reportedly intercepted a total of 75 Ukrainian drones in the border areas in the night. Forty-seven of these were intercepted and destroyed over the Rostov region, 17 over the Black Sea and the Azov Sea. However, Ukrainian air defense reportedly intercepted 16 Russian drones that had penetrated their territory.

Russia currently declares almost daily that it has intercepted Ukrainian drones in its airspace. According to Ukraine, these attacks are a reaction to Russian attacks, and they reportedly target mainly military objectives and industrial installations.
