U.S. President Biden expresses dissatisfaction with Israel's efforts to negotiate a hostage release deal.

President Biden of the USA feels that Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel hasn't put in sufficient effort to negotiate a deal for the liberation of captives held by Hamas in Gaza. In a press conference on Monday in Washington D.C., when asked if Netanyahu was doing enough to facilitate such a deal, Biden stated, "Nah."

Over the weekend, the Israeli military stumbled upon six deceased hostages, including an American citizen, inside a tunnel in Rafah. This discovery prompted the U.S. administration to organize an urgent meeting with the U.S. mediating team for Monday, with Vice President Kamala Harris scheduled to attend.

For the past few months, the U.S., alongside Egypt and Qatar, have been vigorously working towards a deal between Israel and Hamas, the Islamic Palestinian organization. This agreement would ensure the release of remaining captives and establish a truce in the Gaza Strip. However, these endeavors have yet to bear fruit.

According to Israeli reports, Hamas militants killed 1205 individuals and captured 251 hostages during their widespread attack on various sites in southern Israel on October 7. As of now, as per the latest Israeli reports, 97 of these captives are still being held by Hamas and other militant Palestinian groups, with 33 reportedly losing their lives.

Following the Hamas attack, Israel launched a substantial military operation in the Gaza Strip. However, the casualty figures provided by Hamas, which can't be independently verified, suggest that over 40,700 individuals have perished since October.

President Biden expressed dissatisfaction with Prime Minister Netanyahu's efforts in negotiations for the release of American hostages held by Hamas, stating, "Nah, he hasn't done enough." After Vice President Kamala Harris's meeting with the U.S. mediating team on Monday to discuss the matter, the situation remains unresolved with 97 captives still in Hamas custody.
