Two women purported to be the daughters of Russian president Vladimir Putin make an appearance at an economic forum.
Putin's potential daughters, Maria Vorontsova and Katerina Tikhonova, have been hiding from the public eye. Yet, they made an appearance recently at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
These women, believed to be Putin's daughters, are relatively unknown to the public. However, they stepped out of the shadows for an event where Putin was also scheduled to speak. Vorontsova, a doctor specializing in endocrinology, discussed biodiversity prior to Putin's speech. Tikhonova, a technology expert, spoke on "technological sovereignty," including in the defense sector, using a video link. While Putin is known for keeping his private life very private, rumors have circulated that Vorontsova and Tikhonova are his daughters.
Despite Putin never confirming their relationship, the media has widely reported it as fact. In 2022, the US Treasury Department listed the 39-year-old Vorontsova and the 37-year-old Tikhonova as "daughters of Russian President Vladimir Putin" in a sanctions decision. The rare public appearances of these women occurred at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, a significant event in Russia.
They had been guests at the conference in the past, but this was their first time appearing in the official program, as reported by independent Russian media.
