Around midnight, shots are fired in the idyllic coastal and beach resort of Zingst in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, apparently from a passing car. There are two severely injured.

Two men, aged 24 and 25, were severely injured by gunshots in the coastal town of Zingst on the Baltic Sea. The 25-year-old's injuries were life-threatening. He was airlifted to a hospital, as reported by the police. The 24-year-old was also taken to a clinic.

Initial investigations suggest that the shots were fired from a passing car into a small group of people shortly after midnight. Police and the public prosecutor's office in Stralsund are investigating on suspicion of attempted murder. According to police, the victims are German nationals. Zingst, known for its beaches, is a popular holiday destination on the Baltic Sea.
