Two people die in attack on Odessa
The port of Odessa is significantly important for Ukraine's exports. Russia frequently attacks the city. Two people were killed and one man was injured in a nighttime missile attack, according to Ukrainian authorities. Damages were also reported in the Rivne region.
According to Ukrainian authorities, two people were killed in a missile attack on Odessa's port. The dead were identified as a security guard and a truck driver, according to Oleh Kiper, the governor of the military administration of the region. A sailor was injured. Kiper did not provide information on damages to the port facilities.
The port of Odessa is important for Ukrainian exports of grain and other goods over the Black Sea. Moscow is suspected of producing Ukrainian cruise missiles there according to previous military reports. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia used four Ch-59/Ch-69 missiles and an Iskander-M missile in the nighttime attack on the port. Three of the Ch-59/Ch-69 missiles were intercepted.
Additionally, Russia used 20 Shahed combat drones of Iranian origin for attacks on various regions of Ukraine. Fourteen drones were shot down, it was reported. These daily air force reports are not verifiable in detail, but they provide an overview of the type and severity of the attacks.
According to authorities, there was a hit on a power plant facility in the western Rivne region. For residents in the vicinity, the power went out at one point, according to Ukrenerho, the power supplier. According to the military administration of Rivne, there was a fire, but it was contained. "No one was injured in this attack," wrote Governor Olexander Kowal.
The number of deaths due to Russia's attacks on Ukraine has unfortunately been increasing.
