Two men convicted in Göttingen for falsifying MPU reports
Due to the forgery of certificates regarding medical-psychological examinations (MPU), two men in the lower Saxon city of Göttingen have been found guilty. A 32-year-old was sentenced to two years probation, and a 64-year-old was sentenced to a total of two years and nine months in prison, as well as one year and four months, according to the district court. In addition, the confiscation of a total of 18,000 Euro from the accused was ordered.
The MPU is usually ordered in most cases due to alcohol or drug violations at the wheel. According to the public prosecutor, the two men are suspected of ensuring that drivers received positive assessments, even if they had not passed the corresponding test.
The 32-year-old is said to have taken over the "customer care" as an employee of an MPU consultation office, and the 64-year-old is said to have converted negative assessments into positive ones on the computer. The two were found guilty of document forgery and falsification of so-called evidentiary data.
The proceedings against another defendant, who is alleged to have taken over the coordination between the 32-year-old and the 64-year-old, were reportedly separated by a court spokesperson. A fourth defendant, who is accused of supporting the forgery in two cases, was acquitted.
- The 32-year-old man, who was employed at an MPU consultation office in Goettingen, was responsible for handling the "customer care," as revealed in the MPU report.
- The district court's results indicated that both men, one aged 32 from Goettingen and another 64-year-old, were guilty of forging and falsifying documents related to MPU reports.
- Despite the convicted men's attempts at deceit, the MPU report and subsequent legal proceedings led to the confiscation of a substantial 18,000 Euro from them.
