Two Germans succumb to a car accident in Italy.

A Germany-based couple, aged 61 and 68, met with a tragic fate on an Italian highway near Livorno, Tuscany. While driving at breakneck speed towards a toll booth, their car crashed into two stationary vehicles in the queue, resulting in a deadly collision. The passengers of one of the waiting cars also lost their lives in the aftermath.

Based on information from the Italian fire department, the heavily damaged toll booth was pulled away from its position after the incident. Eyewitnesses reported cars lying on their roofs on the road, and the toll booth itself rendered unusable.

A total of six people, including two children, were reported to have sustained injuries as a result of the accident. Remarkably, the employee manning the toll booth managed to escape unscathed. Authorities are currently examining the incident in detail to uncover its exact cause.

A horrific tragedy, indeed. The collision claimed the lives of two people from Augsburg, Germany, and rendered others severely injured. May they find peace and recovery soon.
