Two dead in military jet crash in eastern France

In Eastern France, two military jets have collided mid-air, resulting in the deaths of two pilots. The two fighter jets, both of the Rafale type, collided on Wednesday near Colombey-les-Belles, close to the city of Nancy, during their return from a mission in Germany, the air force announced. A third pilot was able to eject safely and was quickly found unharmed.

President Emmanuel Macron expressed his condolences to the families of the two pilots, saying that the country mourns with them. The aircraft were based at the eastern French airbase in Saint-Dizier. No information on the cause of the accident has been provided yet.

The search for a solution to retrieve the debris and determine the cause of the collision is underway, with the aim of a potential rescue and investigation. Despite the loss, the surviving pilot's quick rescue and safe condition offer a glimmer of hope in this tragic situation.
