Two bicycle riders were hit by a car and injured in the Vogtlandkreis. The two bicycle riders were on the Alten Reichenbacher Straße in Neumark (Vogtlandkreis), heading towards the Bundesstraße 173 on a Sunday around midday, when the collision occurred, as the police reported. A 84-year-old driver had approached the two from behind and failed to notice them initially.

The car struck the 59-year-old female bicycle rider with its right side, causing her to fall. She sustained severe injuries and was eventually taken to a hospital. The 61-year-old male bicycle rider was lightly injured.

The incident took place in the Vogtland district, specifically in Neumark, which is part of the Vogtlandkreis and Saxony's Zwickau region. The police are investigating the cause of the accident, as the elderly driver claimed to have not seen the bicycle riders until it was too late. On the same day, there had been an increase in traffic due to a local event in the area.
