Two adolescent students from Germany meet unfortunate accidents involving vehicles in Tuscany.

In a unfortunate event in Lido di Camaiore, situated on Tuscany's Mediterranean coast, two young lives were sadly taken. The two deceased individuals, born in 2005 and 2006, were hit by a vehicle that seemed to have lost control, as suggested by initial reports from the Italian police. The incident involved a 44-year-old woman who was driving.

As per updates from dpa, the victims were German students from North Rhine-Westphalia, who were part of a school trip. A total of seven individuals, including the driver, sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital. The condition of one of the victims is reported to be critical, as per the Mayor of Lido di Camaiore, Marcello Pierucci. No further details regarding the identities of the victims have been disclosed by the Italian police.

The collision happened around 7 pm on a Wednesday evening. The driver is said to have breached two traffic signals before the incident, leading to her arrest, as informed by Pierucci. She was also subjected to alcohol and drug tests.

Pierucci shared his disbelief, stating, "This has never happened before." The car, reportedly moving at high speed, crossed an intersection in the city center and initially collided with the two German individuals. The vehicle continued its path, knocking down more pedestrians, before finally crashing into several parked cars.

Lido di Camaiore is a coastal town, situated about 30 minutes west of the popular city of Lucca, and is famous for its seaside promenade. The accident occurred a few hundred meters away from the city center, near the well-known resorts of Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio. The seaside promenade has since been closed to traffic due to the incident.

The Italian police are yet to release the identities of the two German victims, who lost their lives in Lido di Camaiore, part of The Italian Republic. Following the incident, the Mayor of Lido di Camaiore, Marcello Pierucci, expressed his shock, stating, "This has never happened before in our republic."
