A quarter of the donors in May for the Trump campaign were first-timers, while Trump's criminal trial in New York and his conviction on 34 felony charges were cited as motivators for these contributions. Over $53 million was collected online shortly after his conviction.

Furthermore, the Trump campaign revealed that organizations supporting him raised an extra $150 million in the same month.

In a news release, Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, Trump's campaign managers, expressed their gratitude for the numerous supporters, stating, "We are moved by the outpouring of support for President Donald J. Trump. The American people saw through Crooked Joe Biden's rigged trial and sent Biden and the Democrats a strong message - the REAL verdict will be on November 5th."

Previously, Trump had accused Biden of orchestrating his prosecution in New York, even though the indictment was initiated by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Following a lag in fundraising earlier this year, Trump's team surpassed Biden's political organization in April, having raised $76 million with the Republican Party. Their movement was more than the $51 million reported by the Biden camp as acquired with the Democratic National Committee.

However, the Trump campaign has not shared their total cash reserve thoroughly at the end of May, and the Biden campaign has not yet disclosed any May fundraising figures. Presidential campaigns are required to provide fundraising and spending information to federal regulators later this month.
