Trump demonstrates a sexist attitude towards Harris
In the pursuit of securing the Oval Office, prominent Republicans urge Trump to sidestep personal assaults against his competitor Harris. Yet, disregarding his party's counsel, the ex-US president has now breached boundaries for the first time.
Presidential hopeful Donald Trump stirs controversy in his bid by propagating a crude remark regarding his Democratic foe, Kamala Harris. Trump shared a post on his Truth Social platform, attributing its source to another user, suggesting that sexual favoritism propelled Harris' ascent.
The post includes an old photo of Kamala Harris alongside previous US Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who contended against Trump in 2016. The comment, "Amusing how bed favors influenced their two careers differently...", is a rough allusion to a sex scandal surrounding Clinton's husband Bill during his tenure (1993-2001). Supporters of Trump also disseminate speculative tales about Harris, asserting that her romantic affiliations with a potent California politician in the 90s boosted her career.
"I've got to do it my way"
Although Trump did not pen the post, his decision to feature it on his official Truth Social account is noteworthy. Throughout the campaign, Trump degrades his Democratic counterpart, labeling her "crazy" and "stupid" among other slurs. Furthermore, Trump has condemned Harris based on her racial background and ancestry, implying that she "transfigured into black a few years ago." Verbal sexual assaults, however, have now reached a more explicit stage.
Recently, several Republicans have urged Trump to taper his personal attacks on Harris and concentrate on material matters instead. When quizzed about these admonishments during a recent press conference, Trump rebuffed them. "I'm entitled to launch personal attacks towards her," Trump, now 78, claimed, referring to Harris and their competitive environment. "I've got to do it my way." In his 2016 bid, Trump also stirred up controversy with a vulgar remark, expressing his ability to approach women "by the pussy" anywhere. Despite this, Americans chose him as their president.
In response to the urgings from several Republicans to tone down his personal attacks on Harris, Trump asserted, "I'm entitled to launch personal attacks towards her." Refusing to alter his approach, he defiantly stated, "I've got to do it my way."
