Trump declared a televised face-off arrangement with Harris.

Due to Donald Trump criticizing ABC for lacking impartiality, the proposed TV debate with Kamala Harris appeared to be in danger. However, Trump has now consented to the terms set. Simultaneously, Harris is preparing to conduct her initial interview as a presidential candidate this week.

The arrangement for a September 10 TV debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris has allegedly been sealed. This will adhere to the regulations established during the June 27 CNN debate featuring Trump and President Joe Biden, which included a muted microphone for the non-speaking participant and an audience-less studio.

Trump regarded ABC as the "most unfair and merciless" news network. Nevertheless, he claimed that ABC assured him that the debate in Philadelphia would be "just and fair." Harris supposedly spurned a September 4 debate with Fox News, a network with conservative leanings, but Trump stated that she left the date open for potential change of mind.

ABC announced around three weeks ago that Trump and Harris would square off on September 10. Both candidates had confirmed their participation at that time. This is the only scheduled TV debate between the vice president and the former president prior to the November 5 election. However, a debate rule controversy has recently emerged between the Harris and Trump campaigns.

Harris' First Interview

Meanwhile, Harris is scheduled to conduct her initial interview since being formally nominated as a presidential candidate. She will be interviewed alongside her running mate, Tim Walz, in the crucial state of Georgia on Thursday. The interview will air at 9:00 PM ET (1:00 AM CET on Friday), moderated by CNN's Dana Bash.

Republicans have repeatedly accused Harris of shying away from interviews since President Biden abandoned his bid for the White House nearly five weeks ago. Consequently, Harris has only responded to a few queries from reporters at campaign events. Furthermore, she has yet to hold a press conference as a presidential candidate. Trump has criticized this on multiple occasions.

Despite Trump's criticism of ABC for perceived bias, he agreed to participate in a September 10 TV debate with Joe Biden's running mate, Kamala Harris. Following this decision, Harris is set to give her initial interview as a presidential candidate, joined by her running mate Tim Walz, on Thursday in Georgia.
