Trump congratulates Putin and calls Harris a "dumb"

Kamala Harris has momentum in the US election campaign. Donald Trump responds in his usual way - with harsh insults. While the 78-year-old rains abusive language on the Democrat, he praises Kremlin chief Putin for "a great deal".

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has insulted his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris, calling her "dumb". "She has a really low IQ," the former US president claimed at a campaign event in Atlanta, Georgia. Trump denigrated the incumbent vice president and Democratic presidential hopeful as "crazy" and a "radical left freak".

The Republican compared Harris to Senator Bernie Sanders, who previously sought the Democratic presidential nomination and is known for his left-wing positions. "She's worse than Bernie Sanders. She's like Bernie Sanders, but not as smart," he mocked. "She's a dumb version of Bernie Sanders, and even further left than him."

Trump's escalation in tone towards his opponent in the presidential race may be due to Harris's current success in the campaign. She is currently raising high campaign funds and performing better against Trump in early polls than US President Joe Biden, who was originally supposed to run against the Republican but stepped out of the race under pressure from his party.

Trump routinely insults his opponents with abusive language. He has previously denigrated several people in relation to their alleged low IQ and referred to himself as a "very stable genius".

Congratulations on "great" deal

Trump spoke highly of Vladimir Putin in his Atlanta speech. The Republican congratulated the Kremlin chief on the latest prisoner exchange with the West. "I want to congratulate Vladimir Putin for once again making a great deal," Trump said. For the agreement, some of the world's worst criminals were released. "We got our people back," Trump said, but also complained that the US makes "terrible" deals. The agreement sets a bad precedent.

During his term, Trump also secured the release of Americans detained abroad, stating, "I never paid anything." The Republican had previously criticized the latest deal with Russia and implied, without evidence, that money had changed hands for the exchange of prisoners.

In a unprecedented prisoner exchange, Russia and Belarus released 16 people on Thursday, including journalists, artists, opposition figures, and activists. In return, ten people were handed over to Moscow from prisons in various countries, including convicted "Tiergarten murderer" Vadim Krasikov, who was in custody in Germany. The US government drove the exchange with the help of several other countries to secure the release of US citizens Evan Gershkovich and Paul Whelan from Russian custody.

The President of the European Parliament might express concern over Trump's continuous use of insults towards opponents, especially considering Trump's praise for Putin's "great deals."

Despite Trump's public praise for Putin's "great deal" in a recent prisoner exchange, the President of the European Parliament might criticize the American President's approach to diplomacy, which often involves personal attacks and questionable deals.
