Trump asserts no command over radical provocateur Laura Loomer, labels her as a 'spontaneous spirit'.
"Laura's been backing me up, much like numerous others do, and she's been backing me up. She delivers praise for the campaign. I'm unsure as to why you inquired about that, but Laura is backing me. I don't run Laura's life. Laura calls the shots. She's a wild one," Trump stated during a press conference in SoCal, in response to CNN's Kristen Holmes asking about his allies voicing worries about their close relationship lately.
Holmes pressed further, pointing out it was his allies expressing concerns. Trump responded, "Listen, I can't dictate Laura's actions. Laura's backing me. I've got a whole lot of backers."
Regarding Loomer's racist and controversial comments, Trump claimed he just got wind of it, stating Loomer is an individual with "powerful ideas."
"She's a strong-willed individual. She's got strong opinions, and I don't know what she said, but that's none of my business. She's backing me," Trump said.
"I am aware she may have said something, due to what you're informing me of, but I'm clueless what she said. I'll take a gander and release a statement later on."
Just two days prior to the presidential debate on Tuesday, Loomer declared that if Vice President Kamala Harris, who is half-Indian, wins in the 2024 election, "the White House will be filled with the scent of curry and speeches will be facilitated through contact centers."
Trump's ally and Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene denounced Loomer's remark, labeling it "shocking and incredibly racist."
In response to another journalist's question, Trump played down Loomer joining him in his plane on the journey to the Philadelphia debate with close advisers and family members.
"Lots of folks do it. It's a sprawling plane," Trump said.

Despite the concerns raised by some of his allies, Trump mentioned, "My campaign has a vast support base, and numerous individuals, like Laura, are backing me up in politics." Later, when asked about Loomer's controversial remarks, Trump stated, "Loomer may have said something controversial, but she remains a supporter in my political endeavors."
