Trump announces return to the scene of the attack

Elon Musk invites Republican presidential candidate Trump for a chat on X, but the stream initially struggles with technical issues. A two-hour talk ensues between two men who find common ground on many topics.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump participated in a highly anticipated interview with billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk on his social media platform X. During the conversation, which was watched by over 1.3 million people at its peak, Trump discussed the assassination attempt against him, the war in Ukraine, and criticized the current US administration. The event was delayed by over 40 minutes due to technical difficulties preventing many users from accessing the livestream.

At the start of the conversation, Musk praised Trump for his bravery during an assassination attempt in July, where Trump was struck by a bullet near his ear. The Tesla CEO, who had expressed his support for Trump following the incident, commended the former president's resilience and courage multiple times. Trump announced his intention to return to a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, the site of the attack, in October.

Later, Trump made unfounded claims, such as suggesting that Russia wouldn't have invaded Ukraine if he were still president. He praised authoritarian leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Throughout the conversation, Trump expressed his displeasure with Vice President Kamala Harris being the Democratic candidate for the presidential election in November instead of President Joe Biden. He incorrectly referred to it as a "coup" and claimed that Harris hasn't given an interview since the beginning of this "deception." Trump had previously overtaken Biden in many polls in the crucial states that will decide the election on November 5 but now trails Harris in some of those states.

Technical difficulties delayed the start of the interview, which Musk attributed to a suspected Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. A DDoS attack aims to overwhelm servers with a flood of requests. This has not been confirmed yet.

Donald Trump, despite facing technical issues during the livestream on X, successfully participated in a two-hour discussion with Elon Musk. Throughout the conversation, the former president expressed his thoughts on various topics, including criticizing the current US administration and making unfounded claims about Russia's involvement in Ukraine.

In the chat, Donald Trump also voiced his disapproval of Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate, referring to her rise to power as a "coup" and claiming that she hasn't given an interview since the beginning of the election deception.
