Traffic - Truck overturns on A9 near Eisenberg - driver seriously injured

A truck overturned on Autobahn 9 between Bad Klosterlausnitz and Eisenberg. The 35-year-old driver was seriously injured as a result.

The 35-year-old man came off the road with his truck in the night to Tuesday and rammed into a concrete barrier, as the police reported. Consequently, the truck overturned and remained lying. According to initial findings, the investigators assume that the man fell asleep at the wheel and veered off course due to micro-sleep.

Autobahn 9 towards Berlin was closed for approximately an hour. The vehicle was recovered with a crane.

The police in Thuringia attended to the scene of the accident involving a TRUCK on Autobahn 9. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the driver sustained serious injuries due to the overturned TRUCK. As traffic was disrupted, local authorities advised motorists to avoid the area near Eisenberg.
