Despite the Rhineland-Palatinate region being warned about severe weather, including thunderstorms and heavy rain, some people still ventured out in Trier, leading to incidents like the one at the main market. Following the bad weather, the city of Trier requested the assistance of the police to manage any further incidents and manage traffic at intersections with malfunctioning traffic lights.
