Prices for all-inclusive trips within and outside of Hessen have significantly increased compared to last year this summer. According to the Statistical Office's announcement at the beginning of the Hessian summer holidays, there was a 9.3% increase in prices for domestic booked holidays in June 2024 within a year. Domestic flights were 3.3% more expensive, and a train ticket in long-distance transport cost 6.7% more.

For an all-inclusive trip abroad, travelers paid 4.2% more in June 2024 than in the same month the previous year, as the Office in Wiesbaden reported further. However, international flights were 6.4% cheaper in comparison to June 2023.

A trip within Hessen has also become more expensive: Overnight stays in a Hessian youth hostel cost around 8.7% more in June 2024 than a year ago, and the prices for overnight stays in a hotel or a pension rose by 8.2%. Both camping site fees and the rent for a holiday house or a holiday apartment in Hessen increased by 5%.

The rise in prices for all-inclusive package tours within Hessen this summer has led many tourists to consider alternative options for their vacation. To avoid these high costs, some travelers are now opting for independent tourism activities in Hesse's scenic cities, such as Wiesbaden.

Interested in exploring Hesse's rich culture and history, many people are now planning a package tour that includes visits to famous landmarks and attractions in the region, despite the increased costs.
