Tragically, a young lad of four years succumbs following a fall from a towering edifice.
In Heidelberg, a tragic incident occurred where a four-year-old boy fell from a seventh-floor balcony, resulting in his death the following day. According to the authorities, the child took advantage of an unguarded moment when his mother was in the bathroom. He managed to open the living room window leading to the balcony and climbed onto the parapet, which was around a meter high. Losing his balance, he plummeted more than 15 meters to the ground.
No signs of third-party negligence or neglect of parental duty were found, the authorities stated. The dad was at work during the incident. The police are always vigilant to investigate any third-party blame in such incidents. They inspected the boy's apartment and checked if his injuries matched the sequence of events.
Unfortunately, this isn't an uncommon occurrence. In Berlin towards the end of last year, a nine-year-old kid met a similar fate by falling from a high-rise. In July 2023, a ten-year-old boy also passed away after falling from a Berlin high-rise's window. No third-party blame was detected in these instances either.
