Tragic Losses in Assault on Solinger City Celebration
At the heart of the festivities marking Solingen's 650th anniversary on the Plaza, there have been tragic loses and numerous injuries. This was confirmed by the local newspaper "Solinger Tageblatt" after getting information from the fire department. Multiple bystanders who witnessed the incident claimed that it seemed like a knife was the weapon of choice. On the event stage, organizer Philipp Müller, reported that emergency services were attempting to save the lives of nine individuals. As a result, the celebration was called off.
Right before 10 PM, it's believed that an individual went on a rampage with a knife among the festival crowd. Shortly after the hour, the organizers made the decision to call off the event and asked the attendees to exit the area in an orderly fashion.
The tragic incidents at the festival included several instances of knife attacks, causing numerous injuries and losses. Consequently, the festival organizer announced the suspension of the celebration due to the emergencies caused by the knife attacks.
