Traffic light wants to comply with the debt brake again in 2024
An agreement has been reached in the budget dispute between the traffic light coalition. Details are not yet known. However, according to a report, one important point has been cleared up: the debt brake is to apply again for the 2024 budget.
According to coalition circles, the federal government does not want to suspend the debt brake in the 2024 budget for the time being. The news agency Reuters has learned this from circles within the traffic light coalition in Berlin. Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), Vice-Chancellor Robert Habeck (Greens) and Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) agreed on a solution to the budget crisis early this morning. Further details are not yet known. The three heads of government will address the press at 12 noon.
