Tourist from Germany perishes in water during boat journey on Mallorca.

An older gentleman from Germany, 58 years of age, hailing from Zossen near Berlin, had a tough time due to an illness and sought relaxation in Mallorca. While enjoying a boat trip, it seemed he encountered trouble while taking a dip in the sea. His rescue came only when he had already stopped moving.

Regrettably, this unlucky German tourist lost his life in Mallorca. The "Mallorca Zeitung" (MZ) reported that the man had a brain tumor and was attempting to recover from numerous surgeries, as his brother shared with the newspaper. The unfortunate incident occurred on June 8. Upon our request, the German consulate in Palma verified the man's demise, the "MZ" revealed.

The boat excursion carried a maximum of 168 passengers and embarked from Alcúdia in northern Mallorca. The reason behind the accident in Pollença Bay remained unclear initially.

The captain of the catamaran possibly believed the German man was snorkeling close to the vessel, according to eyewitness accounts presented by the "MZ." However, when the man did not show movement for quite some time, he was retrieved from the water. The police confirmed that they commenced an investigation into the matter.
